Steven Tyler quits Aerosmith?
11/7/2009 10:23:00 PM

London, Nov 7 (IANS) Singer Steven Tyler has quit band Aerosmith, if Joe Perry, the band's guitarist is to be believed.

The news comes months after Tyler dismissed reports that the band was on the verge of splitting following a year of cancelled tour dates, injuries and accidents.

Perry has now revealed that his friend has left the rock group after its performance at Formula One racing season's final weekend in Abu Dhabi last weekend, reports contactmusic.com.

'Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don't know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don't know,' Perry said.

The guitarist feels Tyler's lack of communication with other band members has led to this state.

'He's notorious for that (not picking phone calls). That's one thing I've learned to live with. I try to overlook it. I like to pick my battles...'

According to Perry, the singer has not yet contacted any member of the band.
