China, Indonesia vow to boost ties
3/23/2012 11:41:00 PM

Beijing, March 23 (IANS) China and Indonesia Friday pledged to cement their ties and push forward their cooperation in east Asia.

The commitment was made in the meetings between visiting Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao at the Great Hall of the People in downtown Beijing.

Wu, chairman of National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said the NPC, the Indonesian parliament and the People's Consultative Assembly have forged sound cooperation and made contributions to the development of the China-Indonesia strategic partnership in recent years.

Wu expressed his hope that the two legislative bodies can give full play to their potential for cooperation and work together to vitalize and enrich their strategic partnership, Xinhua reported.
