Now, plant-based 'wonder pill' that helps skin build its own sunblock
4/2/2012 1:56:00 PM

London, April 2 (ANI): A small pink pill, which contains plant extracts high in lutein and anthocyanidins, has been found to reduce crow's feet, improve skin firmness - and even protect from the sun.

The tablet called Colladeen Visage can provide a natural sun protection factor of 10 and also offers skin benefits, say researchers.

Now trials have proved it can also help the body produce its own shield against sun damage.

The 12-week trial of 60 adults aged 40 to 70 used the same testing usually applied to sun creams and anti-ageing treatments.

Plants protect themselves from sun damage with pigments such as lutein and anthocyanadins, the Daily Express quoted researcher Dr Samantha Christie as saying.

When these are present in high quantities in our diet we see a complex effect on skin chemistry - a natural SPF is achieved as well as an ability to reverse pre-existing sun damage.

The study shows that the tablet - Colladeen Visage - has proven, visible effects on the appearance of skin, Dr Christie added.

Colladeen Visage is on sale at 17.95 pounds for 60 tablets online from www.naturesbest.co.uk. (ANI)
