Norwegian mass murderer Breivik refuses to recognise authority of court
4/16/2012 5:27:00 PM

Oslo, Apr 16 (ANI): Norwegian mass killer Anders Behring Breivik, who is facing trial for killing 77 people in a bombing and shooting rampage, has boldly rejecting the authority of the court.

I don't recognise Norwegian courts because you get your mandate from the Norwegian political parties who support multiculturalism, Breivik said in his first comments to the court.

Breivik, dressed in a dark suit, smiled as a guard removed his handcuffs at the district court in Oslo, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

According to the report, Breivik also said he doesn't recognise the authority of Judge Wenche Elisabeth Arntzen, because she is friends with the sister of former Norwegian Prime Minister and Labor Party leader Gro Harlem Brundtland.

The key issue to be resolved during the trial, expected to last ten weeks, is the state of Breivik's mental health, which will decide whether he is sent to prison or to psychiatric care.

Meanwhile, Breivik will explain why he set off a bomb in downtown Oslo, killing eight, and then shot to death 69 people, mostly teenagers, at a Labor Party youth camp on Utoya island, outside of Oslo. (ANI)
