New Delhi, May 24 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presided over a meeting of the Union Cabinet here on Thursday evening.
During the meeting, several issues came up for discussion. They reportedly included the Prime Minister's upcoming three-day bilateral visit to Myanmar from May 27and a decision to defer discussion on the National Telecom Policy (NTP), besides other issues.
The controversial slashing of petrol prices did not figure in the Cabinet meeting.
Media reports suggested that the issue did not come up for discussion as Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister S. Jaipal Reddy was out of the country.
However, ministers representing key allies of the government such as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagham (DMK) were conspicuous by their absence. (ANI)
