Jagan supporter attempts self-immolation in Tirupati
5/28/2012 3:29:00 PM

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), May 28 (ANI): A supporter of the arrested YSR Congress chief, Jaganmohan Reddy, attempted self-immolation here, to protest Reddy's arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

The supporter, identified as Ashok sustained 95 percent burns and has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

His wife, Anjanamma, told reporters that her husband was disappointed with the news of Jagan's arrest and set himself on fire on Sunday night.

My husband and I were canvassing for Jagan's party. In the evening, after watching the news that Jagan was arrested, he went to near by fields and burnt himself with kerosene, she said.

Jaganmohan Reddy was arrested by the CBI on Sunday evening, after three days of intense grilling, sparking sharp reactions from his party and supporters. (ANI)
