Israeli embassy car blast needs probe abroad, court told
6/2/2012 9:02:00 PM

New Delhi, June 2 (IANS) Delhi Police Saturday moved an application in a court here saying that the probe in the Feb 13 Israeli embassy car bomb attack has gone international and they needed three months to conclude the investigation, sources said.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav while granting more time to Delhi Police said this was for the first time that the name of any country has appeared in a police application.

The police plea came up while the court was holding an in-camera hearing on the extension of the judicial remand of journalist Syed Mohammed Ahmad Kazmi, who has been held for his alleged role in helping four Iranian nationals in executing the attack.

The court extended Kazmi's judicial remand till June 22.

Public prosecutor Rajiv Mohan told the court that there was some crucial information with police which should not be made public, sources said.

On Feb 13, four people were injured when an Israeli embassy car was struck by a bomb near the Prime Minister's House in central Delhi.

Tal Yehoshua Koren, wife of the Israeli defence attache, suffered multiple injuries when a motorcycle rider attached a magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within seconds, the device exploded with a thunderous sound, setting the car on fire.
