Mubarak may be exempted from prison attire due to 'health condition'
6/5/2012 11:13:00 AM

Cairo, June 4 (ANI): Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, who has been sentenced to life for his role in the killing of hundreds of protestors during last year's uprising, may not be obliged to wear the distinctive blue prison uniform, according to a report.

A state-run newspaper Al Ahram quoted a security official, as saying, that 'Mubarak is likely to be exempted from this part of prison regulations due to his health condition.'

Mubarak, 84, who reportedly has a heart condition, is being kept in the prison's medical wing, The Gulf News reports.

Security officials and state television recently reported that Mubarak suffered a 'health crisis' on arrival by helicopter at the prison after sentencing.

According to one state media report Mubarak suffered from a heart attack. (ANI)
