Tom Brady helps raise fund to support intellectually disabled people
6/5/2012 4:19:00 PM

Washington, June 5 (ANI): The New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady headed up the 13th Annual Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port over the weekend, as part of his ambassador duties for the organization.

The weekend's events raised 4.5 million dollars in donations for the non-profit organization, dedicated to creating friendship, employment and leadership training opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the People Magazine reported.

The organization has grown to chapters in about 1500 middle school, high school and college chapters worldwide.

Starting with a challenge on Friday, the athlete played QB alongside some Best Buddies participants, supporters and fellow New England Patriots.

Food was also a major component of the festivities, which were participated in by approximately 1600 people.

Guy Fieri - the United States restaurateur, author and television personality - manned the grill during a tailgate party. (ANI)
