London, June 11 (ANI): Jessica Lawlor, the fiancee of footballer Stephen Ireland, who plays for Aston Villa, has revealed the reason behind her joining the cast of 'WAG! The Musical'.

Jessica insisted that she's not content being a full-time mother - I've just got too much drive - which is why she's decided to appear in 'The Musical'.

The comedy musical, which has a Wag and ex-Wag production team, opened at the beginning of this month in Walthamstow, Northeast London, transferring to the West End after a nationwide tour.

Jessica, who had previously only acted as a child in school, stars as Vicci, the ultimate empress of bling, and the setting is the cosmetics counter of a department store.

The show also stars singer-actress (and fiancee of Brentford striker Clayton Donaldson) Pippa Fulton and features actress Charlotte Dawson, daughter of the late comedian Les Dawson, and former EastEnders actress Belinda Owusu.

I never thought in a million years I'd get the part. There were a lot of people going for it, the Daily Mail quoted Jessica as saying.

On being asked about how comfortable she felt playing the role, given all the stereotypes about her breed, she revealed that she was way different from her stage character in real life.

It's a parody. I don't really live like that. I buy clothes on the high street: Miss Selfridge, Topshop. I've only been to Cricket [the designer boutique in Liverpool] once or twice, although we do love Selfridges. I don't even own a Rolex, just a gold Michael Kors. Most of the wives and girlfriends are naturally beautiful. Stephen prefers me natural, she said.

On being asked if Stephen supported her new acting career, she replied in the affirmative.

Yeah, he was, like, Go for it! He's got more faith in me than I have, she added. (ANI)
