No one has electricity in 'blackout-hit' Pak except new PM!
7/2/2012 5:13:00 PM

Islamabad, July 2 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf's personal residence has been installed with special power line within hours of him taking up office.ccording to Express Tribune, the newly elected premier's house now has a special electric line and transformer for his house, which has been graciously provided by the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), an official revealed on condition of anonymity.

No one else in the posh locality has access to the line and continue to experience blackouts throughout the day, the official added.

In order to install the line, the Capital Development Authority also re-carpeted the street where Ashraf's private residence is located.

A serving bureaucrat, who is a neighbour of the premier, said that despite the concern of local residents, the street's green belt has also been turned into a parking lot to accommodate vehicles of the premier's guests.

Responding to a question as to whether it was IESCO's policy to provide uninterrupted power supply to not only the premier but also to his family members as well, IESCO's Superintendent Engineer Rasheed Khattak said: It was IESCO's own initiative, emphasising that there was no pressure from any quarter. He insisted that IESCO's policy is 'equality for all'. (ANI)
