Guwahati, July 5 (ANI): Police have arrested two militants belonging to Dimasa National Revolutionary Front (DNRF) here and recovered a .32 bore pistol and ammunition from their possession recently.
The duo, identified as DNRF deputy commander-in-chief, Manjit Phanglo alias Main Dimasa, and DNRF vice-chairman Nilesh Thousen alias Thairing Dimasa, were wanted for their alleged involvement in militant activities, kidnapping and extortion cases.
Interacting with mediapersons, Superintendent of Police (Operations), Ranjan Bhuyan, said, During the operation, deputy commander-in-chief of DNRF, Manjit Phanglo alias Main Dimasa was arrested. One .32 pistol and around two rounds of live ammunition were recovered from him. Based on the interrogation, another operation was launched, and vice chairman of the outfit Nilesh Thousen alias Thairing Dimasa was apprehended. (ANI)
