Rangoon, July 9 (Xinhua-ANI): Parliamentarian Aung San Suu Kyi made her debut in the current fourth session of Myanmar's House of Representatives (Lower House) in Nay Pyi Taw Monday, four days after the session began last Wednesday.

The parliament session is also the second after April 1 landmark by-elections.

The session, attended by 404 out of 431 parliament representatives with the house, initially covered discussions on bills submitted by the parliamentarians.

The debut of Suu Kyi, leader of the National League for Democracy (NLD), in the parliament came after her return from a 17- day tour to five European countries-Switzerland, Norway, Britain, Ireland and France on June 30. Earlier, she had also visited Thailand where she attended the World Economic Forum on East Asia.

NLD gave high priorities to three issues on its agenda, namely rule of law, internal peace and constitution amendments.

Suu Kyi has said time and again that she will cooperate with the 25-percent non-elected and directly-nominated military parliamentarians for the amendment of the constitution.

In the April 1 by-elections, NLD won 43 out of 45 open parliamentary seats, with 37 (including Suu Kyi) for the House of Representatives, four for the House of Nationalities and two for the region or state parliament.

Over the first three days of the parliament sessions, the parliament sought approval of declaring a state of emergency in Rakhine state, new establishment of diplomatic relations with some nine countries,the resignation of former First Vice President U Tin Aung Myint Oo for health reason and election of a new first vice president in seven days to succeed him under the 2008 state constitution.

A proposal was also made to investigate farmland seizure and properly handle such incidents to reduce farmers' grievances.

The session of the House of Representatives (Lower House) over the last three days approved Amendment of 2012 Examination Board Bill, while that of the House of Nationalities (Upper House) adopted the 1955 Government Housing (Expelling ) Act Amendment Bill and Social Security Amendment Bill.
