North Korea's Kim Jong-un gets new 'Supreme leader' title
7/18/2012 11:04:00 AM

Pyongyang, July 18 (ANI): North Korea has awarded its leader Kim Jong-un the title of the Supreme leader, according to the state-run media.

North Korean authorities recently made an 'Important announcement' through the state-run media.

The 'Important News to Be Reported' was that, 'the Supreme Leader follows in his father's footsteps as the Dear Leader, and his grandfather - the Eternal Leader,' News.com.au reports.

The announcement came few days after North Korean military chief Ri Yong Ho was relieved of his duties due to an unspecified illness.

The move, however, raised questions among analysts who suggested Kim Jong-un might be purging the ruling elite as he attempts to put his own mark on the impoverished nation he inherited. (ANI)
