Hillary Clinton breaks Secretary of State travel record by visiting 102 countries
7/18/2012 3:31:00 PM

Washington, July 18 (ANI): US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has broken all travel records by visiting more countries than any other U.S. Secretary of State did in the past, according to a report.

According to the State Department, since becoming the US Secretary of State in 2009, Clinton has traveled to 102 countries.

Clinton has bet the record of former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright who travelled to a total of 98 countries, New York Daily News reports.

Since taking the reins of the State Department in 2009, Clinton's 102-country travel includes travelling for 351 days on the roads and flown over 843,839 miles.

A map on the State Department website shows that Clinton has travelled to countries as far north as Nuuk, Greenland, and as far south as Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Two of the four most recent additions to Hillary's list, Laos and Mongolia, were part of her latest overseas trip, a marathon effort to France, Afghanistan, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Egypt and Israel.

The 13-day journey covered 27,000 miles, about 2,000 miles more than the circumference of the Earth.

A staff member of Clinton has called the latest odyssey especially absurd, even for us. (ANI)
