Four held for robbery in Delhi
7/18/2012 7:05:00 PM

New Delhi, July 18 (IANS) Four people have been arrested for robbery at a posh south Delhi locality, police said Wednesday. Among the arrested is the family's domestic help, who allegedly master-minded the crime.

A police official said the men were arrested soon after the robbery was committed in south Delhi's Gulmohar Park area Tuesday night. The stolen goods, including jewellery worth over Rs.50,000 and Rs.20,000 in cash, were recovered.

Those nabbed were domestic help Chandan, 20, Viky, 22, Sunny, 23, and Sabir, 30.

Except Chandan, the other three had criminal cases pending against them and were out on bail, police said.

They said three armed men entered the house around 8.30 p.m. and held the house owner, Reetu, her 10-year-old son and domestic help Chandan hostage, and robbed the house.

During interrogation, Chandan, who was working in the house for two months, said he had passed on information to the other three that woman was alone in the house.
