Beach volleyballers swapping bikinis for warmer gear at Olympics
7/22/2012 1:41:00 PM

Melbourne, July 22 (ANI): British beach volleyballers Natalie Cook and Tamsin Hinchley will be wearing warmer gear at the Olympics because some of their games are scheduled for 11pm.

The duo will open their Olympic campaign at the extraordinarily late time, the day after the opening ceremony against two times champions Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh from the United States.

Cook and Barnett modeled their night tights exclusively for News Limited, the outfit they will wear in the opening match.

I feel like Superman wearing this gear, News.com.au quoted Cook as saying.

It won't be too good but it will be much better than playing cold. You do have to focus. You don't want your teeth to be chattering. We are playing so late because of the American broadcast and NBC coverage. It is not great for the bikini but we will do our best.

I still think the bikini is the best practical application for our sport in most conditions. We play in 45 degree heat in Brazil. Even the bikini is too much in that heat, she said. (ANI)
