Doctor killed in Jaipur accident

Jaipur, July 22 (IANS) A 40-year-old paediatrician at a private hospital here was killed when his bike was run over by a speeding truck Sunday morning, police said.

According to police, the incident took place in the Vidhyadhar Nagar area.

Praveen Kejariwal worked as a paediatrician at a private hospital. He was on night duty. He was returning home on his bike Sunday morning when his bike was hit by a speeding truck, said a police officer.

The officer said that some passers-by informed police and also called the ambulance.

He had sustained serious injuries on his head. He was declared dead by the doctors at a hospital, said the officer.

The truck driver escaped from the spot. We have registered a case against him. A search is on for him, said the officer.
