London, August 6 (ANI): Victoria Beckham is trying to befriend Angelina Jolie as the divorce of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has left a gaping hole in her and David's life.

The Cruises were the first couple the Beckhams made friends with when they moved to LA in 2007, and their place can only be filled by another power couple.

For this, the fashion designer already has her ambitious eye on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The 38-year-old has been trying to arrange a lunch date with Jolie while the pair are in the UK over the summer.

The actress is filming in England while the former 'Spice Girls' member is thought to be rehearsing with the Spice Girls to perform at the Olympics closing ceremony.

Victoria was hoping Brad and Angie would hang out with her and David at the Olympics but it hasn't happened, the Daily Star quoted a pal of Posh as telling Goss.

But that hasn't put her off. She has always been the ultimate networker and Angelina is one of her heroes.

She'd love Angie to start wearing some of her outfits, especially on the red carpet, the pal said.

According to sources, Posh is keen to cultivate a friendship with the actress and maybe even turn her into her new BFF.

Clearly, she and David won't be hanging out with Tom and Katie any more as a foursome, the friend said.

Posh thinks Brad and Angie would be the ideal replacement as power-couple pals, the pal said.

Sadly for Posh, another insider said that Jolie is shy.

She hates schmoozing and is quite shy. She rarely has a night out with anyone, unless she's known them for years, an insider said.

It's just the way she is. When she's not working, she likes to spend time at home with Brad and the kids, the insider added. (ANI)
