Ousting second PM not in Pakistan's interest, says SCBA president
8/9/2012 2:56:00 PM

Islamabad, Aug. 9 (ANI): Supreme Court Bar Association president Yasin Azad has said that disqualifying another prime minister is not in the interest of Pakistan, and the judiciary must consider other options on the NRO judgment.

The Daily Times quoted Azad, as saying that with both the apex court and mainstream political parties were ignoring national issues, and therefore, propelling the country towards a crisis.

The SCBA wanted the NRO judgment to be implemented in letter and spirit, but in view of the prevailing crises, it would be prudent to review other options to reach an amicable solution of the issue on the judgment, he said.

He lashed out at the leadership of top political parties, saying that they were busy pursuing their own interests and not interested in people's issues. Political parties should come forward and play their role in issues facing the country, he added. (ANI)
