'Legend' Bolt claims being 'greatest athlete to live' after winning second gold at Games
8/10/2012 11:22:00 AM

London, Aug 10(ANI): The world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, has said he is the greatest athlete to ever live, and added that he has nothing to prove now after successfully defending his 200m title at the London Olympics.

The champion sprinter won the 200m with an authoritative performance, leading a Jamaican clean sweep ahead of 100m silver medallist Yohan Blake and Warren Weir.

After winning the 100 metres gold in a time of 9.63 seconds on Sunday, he had promised another extravagant performance, but gave up on breaking his own world record of 19.19 seconds after feeling a pang in his back coming off the top bend, settling for winning in 19.32s.

I'm now a living legend, I'm also the greatest athlete to live. I've got nothing left to prove. Now I am going to sit back, relax and think about what's next, The Daily Mirror quoted Bolt, as saying.

I don't know what I really want to do after this, whether to run the 100 or 200 or try something else. I need to find a (new) goal that's going to motivate me to great things, he added.

Asked if he really was the greatest, Bolt replied: I am not as great as Mohammed Ali and I'm not greater than Bob Marley. I just know I am a legend.

Bolt once again reiterated his desire to play for his favourite club Manchester United, and believes he could play down the wings for the 19-times English Premier League champions.

I am a better winger, like Nani and Valencia. They are wingers, they are fast. I will be a winger, he said. (ANI)
