New Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) Vice President Hamid Ansari, Speaker Meira Kumar and some senior Congress leaders attended iftar hosted by BJP MP Shahnawaz Hussain Friday.

Among those present were Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi, Congress treasurer Motilal Vora, Minister of State for communications Sachin Pilot and Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas R.P. N. Singh.

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders present included party chief Nitin Gadkari, L. K. Advani, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi.

Nationalist Congress Party leaders Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel and Janata Dal-United Leader Sharad Yadav also attended the function.

This came on the day the BJP had demanded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation over the alleged irregularities pointed out in the CAG report in the allocation of coal blocks between 2006 and 2009 when he held the coal portfolio.
