Seven killed in South Africa road accident

Johannesburg, Aug 22 (IANS) At least seven people were killed, including six pupils, and 13 others injured after the truck they were travelling in crashed in a South African province Tuesday afternoon.

According to the provincial transport and community safety spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane,the accident took place when the truck was carrying pupils from a primary school, Xinhua quoted.

Their truck overturned in KuaZulu-Natal province, said police.

The truck was found having rolled numerous times as emergency personnel arrived on the scene, with the patients strewn across the embankment, the South African Press Association quoted paramedics as saying.

The six killed pupils aged 8 to13. Among the injured, six were in a critical condition, said paramedics.
