New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): Refuting the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) claim that Congress members resorted to the use of foul and unparliamentary language in the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting held here on Wednesday, P.C. Chacko, Chairman of the JPC, said no unparliamentary language was used in the meeting.

Interacting with media, Chacko said there was no provocation for the BJP members to walkout of the meeting, and added the walkout was a political decision.

I think it is was a political decision to walkout. Their decision is unjustified and unreasonable. They have committed a mistake and I am sure they will realise it and correct it, he said.

Chacko said he has left the issue of calling Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram for questioning to the collective decision of the parliament.

He said BJP members did not wait for his decision on both the witnesses and left.

He said there are 107 names in the witnesses list under 72 category.

Since the Committee has not much time left as its term is ending in December, we wanted to shorten the list by removing the non serious names, Chacko added.

We want to record every one associated both directly and indirectly with the allocation of 2G spectrum. Now non serious witnesses will be sent questionnaire for their opinion, he said.

Asked what if the BJP members resign from the JPC, Chacko said work of the Committee will continue and it will complete their report as the majority is there.

He said the list of witnesses will be finalised in the next meeting. (ANI)
